MMI Bolivia
I am terrified of eyes. And yet, somehow I found myself as a volunteer on my first MMI Surgical Eye trip to Bolivia! Once they found out I could do photo and video, I was given access to all aspects of the program. I documented eye surgeries, children fitted with glass eyes, and the emotional reveal when bandages were removed and patients could see for the first time in years.
